Our Syndicat represents various trades including: collectors, traders, (some do both activities), and other trades related to raw hides and skins. Typically, collectors’ savoir-faire is key to ensure the quality of the hides.
Their work consists in:
-Collecting the skins and hides from packing houses shortly after slaughter.
-Identifying the skins to ensure traceability.
-Proceeding to PARAGE and HABILLAGE.
-Classifying according to weight, number/type of defects.
-Salting, sampling and CROUPONNER.
-Palletizing and stocking in suitable conditions before shipping.
Traders have a commercial role only and are not involved in any of the above.
